I’ve had another idea!
How about we all log where we’re from on a big map, and then we can see if we’re actually near to one of our friends!
I’ve done a little research, and I’ve found somewhere where we can do it, and we don’t have to subscribe or login or anything. (link is after the instructions)
Here’s some basic instructions:
- In the additions menu (at the top) click add marker.
- Then put your blog name in the Entry name box
- then put your city and state and country – (you don’t have to put anything more specific, but you can if you want)
- click the details tab at the top, and enter your website address.
- Finally, you can click on the Media tab (next to details) at the top, and submit a photo.
- You can add as much or as little info as you like too.
- When you click submit, It’s worth copying the link for editing your post, because I don’t think you cna find it again afterwards.
- If you make a mistake, let me know, and I can delete your marker if you want.
- When you first press submit – it confirms your location, offering alternatives. click “show more” until it’s correct. Select the one that’s correct, and then click submit again.

We added our blog but it’s not showing up on the map. We’re sure we followed your directions but we don’t know what happened.
Hi, I’m really sorry you’ve had trouble, I’ve just tested it from a friend’s computer, and it worked, so I guess I’ve missed out something in the steps.. when you press submit, you should get a message box with a link to edit your entry… did you get that?

What a cool idea! It was fun. I can’t wait to see the map when it has more entries, too. I feel lonely down there by myself!
to The Island Cats: after you first click “submit”, it fills in latitude and longitude and then you have to click “submit” again.

I think we may actually have done it twice! I hope that they get the right one–one is wrong!! We tried to delete it at the link it gave us but it wouldn’t let us do anything to the other link.

We had to do it twice ‘cos it didn’t show up the first time ~ but we’re on ther now. We accidentally got the word Devon twice and don’t know how to amend it ~ but it probably doesn’t matter.
We think it’s a lovely idea and we were surprised to see where some folk live!

We goofed. We didn’t realize how to fill in everything on the first try so we just started over and did a new entry but when we went back to delete the old one, it wouldn’t let us do it because we weren’t an administrator. I had the mom do this. We think she did it but not fur sure to see the map that shows us where I am at. Look around Fort Wayne, Indiana for a sunflower and see if you see me. How do I get a copy of the map to have at my place? Does this chance as new ones are added? We know just enough about this sort of things to get into trouble with.
The mom tried with address thingie that they gave us and it said invalid. Can you see if I am on the map? If so how do I see. If not do I try again?
I promise only to bother you one more time on this, today anyway. I went back to the map and found myself, the sunflower in Fort Wayne, IN. But I am the only one there. I think I am on the wrong map or something????? I know there are more kitties by me as I see them outside running around all of the time.
