It all started on Saturday. Daddycat was chopping Onions, and I was sitting on my perch in the kitchen, when he noticed my eyes were streaming as much as his! I wouldn’t leave the kitchen though, as they were cooking lamb. YUM!
The next day, they noticed that my eye was still a little gloopy with greenie/greyie stuff. We took advice from Auntie Barbara at Abyssinian Breeders Anonymous, (she comments as ABA) who said if it doesn’t get better on it’s own in a few days, go to the vet.
It kinda got a little better, after a saltwater wash that Auntie Barbara also suggested, but it just wouldn’t go away.
We tried to get a picture of the gloopy eye, but I pulled a funny face instead!
The vet was very nice though, and commented on how lovely I was, so I put up with a lot from him.
I got a complete service – he clipped my claws, looked at my scabby lower lip, and put a drop of Fucithalmic in my eye.
So I should be back to normal in no time at all.
But that doesn’t mean that the sympathy can stop or anything.. ok?
P.S. Dadcat hasn’t been very happy with any of our local vets – we’ve tried three different ones, and although they haven’t been bad as such, they’ve just been well, indifferent at best.
We really liked this vet though and his name is Dreyer Schoeman at Anderson Veterinary Group, and he deserves a plug, as he was so good and nice to me.

OH, Poor Freya. We hope you are feeling better!
Bless your heart Freya! You deserve extra treats for having to go through all that. It truly is the best way to get better, don’t you think? Get well soon, dear…

Love your funny face picture!! Lots of purrs for your eye to heal very soon! You deserve lots and lots of treats!
Hope you are feeling better. So was it just a coincidence that your eye was goopy at the same time as the onion peeling or was there a connection?
Tail wags, the OP Pack
Freya, I am sorry you got a goopy eye. I hope it is all better soon, and you get lots of extra treats to help it heal up.
Finding a good vet that you trust is such a great thing!
It’s so hard to find the right vet. I’ve just found out that my lovely vet has sold the practice.
Sometimes it’s hard to find a good Bengal doc, the wildness can intimidate them!
Freya, I’m glad to hear that your Daddycat found a vet who care about you. Nanny was not to happy with her vet. Daisy was rushed back to the Animal Hospital in August for a second surgery because the vet did not do her job properly the first time. Sadly we are still searching for the right vet! You look very cute Freya!
Goopy eyes are yukky. I get ‘em (me, Zoey, that is) all the time, but they tell me that’s common for himmie-cats.
Makes me look like I’m winkin’ at ya!
Daddy washes my eyes every day for me tho; it’s good cause then I can see Maggy coming.
Goopy eye isn’t fun. We get it a lot here too. We hope you find a good V-E-T.

Dear Freya, I hope that your eyes will recover soon.
U are such a great cat, your human too!
I remember the time when u care to search for me, during the bad times that happens to me and my family. I was, and still, feel grateful for that.
May God pay all of your kindness.
Now I’m doing quite good, but still can’t blog very often regarding to my secretary’s master study.

U are my good furriend!

Oh Freya! Hope you´ll be just fine in no time! Onions are scary things for cats! It can actually be lethal if you eat it, so you wouldn´t want it in your eyes!!
I love that photo of you Freya! I’m sorry you have a goopy eye but I’m sure it will all be better soon.
My dad is happy with my vet but I do not like any vet. They do Bad Things!
